Sabbath Sanctity: Living Testimony that money one lost for keeping Sabbath brings in much more

If you do not desire to do your own things on My holy day or Sabbath hours, I will let you ride on the clouds of blessings. That is the drift of Isaiah’s Message in Isaiah 58:13. So well-known to Sabbath keepers.

But what people do not know, is that every word is true and actually happens. And that happened in front of my eyes just this week. It happened in the following way:

Our elder at Yongwha SDA church at the foot of Songli-san or Songli Mountain, is a village leader with a number of other village leaders in the area. Next week they planned a trip to China for the elders and their spouses. When the time was announced for the trip to China, our elder and his wife were shocked to learn that their flight has to come back to Korea on a Sabbath. They objected but the group said they could not do anything and on a meeting with all leaders it was decided that he has to pay $2000 anyhow, whether he and his wife go or not. Their answer was “not”. So the result was that they are to lose next week when the group goes to China, $2000 for keeping the Sabbath faithfully. He is going to lose the $1000 he already paid up-front and also they will take off from his salary $1000 for the other half.

For this standing for their faith, the Lord had some surprise in hand and today that surprise came.

His neighbor has a large apple-orchard and it stood in full bloom rather late. But today he called our elder to tell him that he gives him and him only of all the villagers, the orchard for free. He can take all the apples.

In case you say this is not possible, our house is full of apples. We came back today with other elders from other congregations that were called by our elder to come and harvest.

Truckloads were moved away today and I got this picture of the smiling owner of the orchard today. He is not a member of our church yet, and his feet did not find its way to our congregation in the center of town, but we will keep his seat warm for him.

Dear Lord,

Bless this neighbor for his willingness to be used by heaven to bless our elder and his wife for the Sabbath-keeping faithfulness. Amen.
