Genesis 10:22-25
22 The sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud and Aram.
23 The sons of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether and Meshech.
24 Arphaxad was the father of Shelah, and Shelah the father of Eber.
25 Two sons were born to Eber: One was named Peleg, because in his time the earth was divided; his brother was named Joktan.

25절에 노아의 4대손인 벨렉의 때에 세상이 나뉘었다는 수수께끼 같은 말씀이 나타납니다. 해수면이 높아져 땅이 나뉘었다는 것 등 여러가지 가능성을 생각할 수 있으나 아마도 벨렉의 시대에 발생한 바벨탑 사건으로 말미암아 셈, 함과 야벳의 후손들이 각지로 흩어져 바벨론, 이집트, 그리스 등 나라들을 건설하기 시작했음을 그의 이름이 예언한 것으로 보입니다. 벨렉은 아브라함의 6대 선조로 아브라함과 동시대에 생존했었습니다.

Verse 25 says in the time of Peleg, the 4th generation of Noah, the earth was divided. Some says the sea level went up that the continents were divided. However, the most plausible explanation may be that due to the incident of Babel Tower, the descendants of Shem, Ham, and Japheth began to disperse and nations were built such as Babylon, Egypt, and Greece. His name "Peleg" predicted this division of nations. Peleg was the 6th ancestor of Abraham, and he was still alive in the same time with Abraham.
