Genesis 31:36-44 KJV

I Recompensed What Was Stolen

36 And Jacob was wroth, and chode with Laban: and Jacob answered and said to Laban, What is my trespass? what is my sin, that thou hast so hotly pursued after me?
37 Whereas thou hast searched all my stuff, what hast thou found of all thy household stuff? set it here before my brethren and thy brethren, that they may judge betwixt us both.

Question 1: How did Jacob react to Laban who searched their tents?
1) He was sorry that Laban could not find his Teraphim
2) Jacob became angry

Question 2: Who were his brethren and Laban’s brethren?
1) Jacob’s older brother and Laban’s brothers
2) Their children and households

38 This twenty years have I been with thee; thy ewes and thy she goats have not cast their young, and the rams of thy flock have I not eaten.
39 That which was torn of beasts I brought not unto thee; I bare the loss of it; of my hand didst thou require it, whether stolen by day, or stolen by night.
40 Thus I was; in the day the drought consumed me, and the frost by night; and my sleep departed from mine eyes.

Question 1: How long did Jacob stay with Laban?
1) 10 years
2) 20 years
3) 30 years

Question 2: When Laban’s animals were stolen, what did Jacob do?
1) You have nothing to do. Laban has to lose
2) Even though it was not his fault, Jacob compensated
3) They decided for half-half

Question 3: How can you summarize Jacob’s last 20 years?
1) It was a happy and meaningful time to form his family
2) It was extremely busy and tired day after day
3) He had relaxed and peaceful days, taking care of the animals

41 Thus have I been twenty years in thy house; I served thee fourteen years for thy two daughters, and six years for thy cattle: and thou hast changed my wages ten times.
42 Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away now empty. God hath seen mine affliction and the labour of my hands, and rebuked thee yesternight.

Question 1: Why did Laban change Jacob’s wages ten times?
1) To give more to Jacob by any means
2) Every time, Jacob should get less and he should get more
3) Same pattern might be boring. It’s necessary to change from time to time

Question 2: Jacob accuses Laban that he would send him away empty. Is it true?
1) Since Laban was stinge, certainly that would be the case
2) How can you use someone free? Jacob misunderstood

43 And Laban answered and said unto Jacob, These daughters are my daughters, and these children are my children, and these cattle are my cattle, and all that thou seest is mine: and what can I do this day unto these my daughters, or unto their children which they have born?
44 Now therefore come thou, let us make a covenant, I and thou; and let it be for a witness between me and thee.

Question 1: Does Laban want to take Jacob’s family and animals back?
1) Yes
2) No

Question 2: What did Laban suggest to Jacob?
1) Let’s make a covenant between you and me
2) I’ll let you go but you have to send me gifts every year
3) Let’s go back to Haran together
