Daniel’s linguistic use in multi-linguist setting

Koot van Wyk 12 January 2020

The flaw in H. H. Rowley's conclusion on page 139 is that one would expect the Targumic author to be a thorough reader of the strata of the Scriptures including Daniel, and to be influenced by biblical language more than for example, the aramaic inscriptions language of his own day, therefore the objectivity we need to expect in a small amount of these lists of the Targum words to have remained on the inscriptions even in the Targum period. This will prove Danielic influence on the Targum. From the Targum the words got on the inscriptions but they originally came from the Scriptures. Thus they prove actually nothing.
