---For those who are unfamiliar to the suffering of Christ the last day of His earthly life, He went to a garden Gethsemane, just east of the Temple to pray during the night.

---Some disciples like Peter went with him, but they were sleepy.

---A great Event was going to happen that same day, and the saints were sleeping with a Laodicean sleep! Holy snores. So they thought.

---They thought they were near Christ, so they can sleep peacefully. How self-deceit they were.

---They were near to hear Him pray but He prayed a distance from them. They slept peacefully not realizing that Roman soldiers are coming.

---Ellen White focused on the content of Christ’s prayer here in the Garden.

---Keep in mind that from the Garden of Gethsemane, they are going for a series of Court sessions and then mob attacks followed by crucifixion and death at 3pm on Friday.

---Christ knew that He is going to die and knew very well how it is going to happen since Isaiah 53 explained it very clearly.

---He knew of all the Messianic passages that were packed in the Old Testament suitcase by the Holy Spirit explaining the manner of His final sufferings.

---Almost everything that happened from this point on, was written in one-line phrases somewhere in the Old Testament.

---Jesus was the fulfillment of a predicted prophecy.

---How He was to die and the time of His death were all explained by the prophets like Daniel in Daniel 9:24-27.

---He knew in the Trinity and as part thereof in His divinity that there was no escape from this bitter cup He was to drink, but in His humanity, cut off or separated from His divinity, in utter dependency, He thought that if there is a chance of bypassing, let it be, but not let it also be.

---Sometimes humans are also given the bitter cup to drink but not without divine assistance or divine involvement.
