Our dear members need to be informed that  there is a Reformed Theology way to look at 1 Pet 4:12-19 and a true Adventist way.
In Reformed theology verse 12 is referring to personal sufferings (Idealism) or literal sufferings of persecution in the first century, 64 BC Nero or 70-73 Jerusalem.
In true Adventism, Peter was witness to Jesus' future prophetic predictments indicating the 1260 years of persecution, Daniel, Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21 and repeated in John's Revelation.
The sufferings are personal within the framework of clear prophetic charts, something all other denominations and their commentaries do not work with.
That is why Adventist pioneers all interpreted 1 Pet 4:17 as indicating the Investigative Judgment since 1844 as Judgment to start in the House of God.
Not so with Reformed Theology who allocate it all to Peter's time.
The real message of Peter is that when you enter these prophetic time charts, including the Time of Trouble, you should look up and rejoice for (verse 13) the Second Coming may be nearer.
Personal sufferings within prophetic predicted bounderies clearly spelled out and taught by Adventism, but not without it.
Some Adventist scholars overlooked this aspect.
Thanks in the Lord.
The paradigm shift in England with the leaders' resignation, the killing of the Japanese leader and the frozen situation for 6 months of the chairman of the government yesterday are three major eartquakes. God let it happen to "hasten" the day Peter is talking about. Isaiah says it is because they transgress God's laws.
Isaiah 24 also says that leaders will fade away.
For us the Time of Trouble in the world is upon us...leaders fade away...Biden with dimentia...Boris Johnson resigning, Lee demoted and barred from operating 6 months. God let the dominoes fall in the direction of the Time of Trouble and not away from it.
Peter said do not fear....
