---When David’s scribe wrote this Psalm 71 for him, he was already old. So what did David do? He took a compendium of his poems or Psalms, and reuse them for designing this Psalm 71.

---How do we know that?

---Identical or very near phrases appears in Psalm 31:2-4 that also appears in Psalm 71:1-3.

---And some of the other verses like 71:10 is like 3:1; 71:11 is like 41:8; 71:12 is like 35:22; 71:13 is like 35:4 and 35:26; 71:19 is like 36:6 and 35:10; 71:22 is like 78:41 and 81:19; 71:24 is like 35:28 and 35:4, 26 and 40:15.

---So there is the early military soldier David in Psalm 31 but the Old and sick David in Psalm 71.

---Little words were changed making the past tense future and other small changes.

---God helped him in the fortress in Psalm 31 but God will help him in his sick bed in the Palace at his old age.

---There were some slips made by the scribe, slip of the hand, ear, eye, memory and tongue. It is human. But the Spirit of God the Editor of the Word of God did not think it wrong because David rewrote after a long time.
