Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him...(Psalm 37:7).

Two weeks ago I was going to a job interview when I realized I'd forgotten to put on a belt.
I rushed into a clothing store and picked up a new one, then found myself stuck in an incredibly long checkout line.
As I stood there waiting, I gritted my teeth, convinced I would be late for my interveiw.
This line is ridiculous!
Why is everyone so slow?

Finally I remembered to pray, and anxieties racing through my mind slowed immediately.
With my worries quieted, I found myself hearing the discussion at the front of the line.
"Are you sure? Can you check agian?" a customer was asking.
"I've already checked twice for you and asked my manager.
There is no match for that shoe," said the cashier.
"Could you move, please? You're hloding up the line."

The customer sighed, starting to walk away. "But what will you do with just a single shoe?" he asked.
"Throw it away probably," the cashier said. "Excuse me," I said.
"Is that shoe a left for a right?"
"A right," said the cashier.
'What size is it?"
"It's a ten."
"That's my size!" I said, "I'll buy it."

As an amputee, I usually have to buy a pair of shoes and throw one away,
but that day I got a single shoe for just $2.12-all because I slowed down long enough to see a gift
God had put in front of me. And as a bonus, I made it to the interview on time and got the job!
