Mission Report: “2008: The Year of God’s Special Blessings” – (Part 1)

I was invited to “BMW 2nd Annual Mission Conference” in Washington-

Spencerville SDA Korean Church in Baltimore, MD.

Pastor Jun of BMW has arranged for me to visit 5 SDA Korean Churches during Oct.15-Nov.17.

What I have found out during this short visit is SDA Korean churches in the US are very much keen and interested in foreign mission works.

Maybe this is a common characteristic of “Diaspora”, however, it was not a surprise for diligent and sincere life style of Korean Adventists to be successful (?).

Most of 5 Korean churches I was invited to had a separate worship services in English for youth. It was refreshing to know how dynamic Korean young pastors are in their ministries with Korean youth.

Korean first generation immigrants to the US have only worked. They did not have any choice; ran away from desperate and treacherous poor conditions of life in Korea especially after Korean War in 1950 into mid 70’s, to the land of HOPE and OPPORTUNITIES.

Now, 2nd generations were provided, therefore, more stabilized living and study environments. There are too many success (?) stories and examples of Korean 2nd generations all over the States.

You can tell differences how God has blessed immigrants with TRUST and FAITH in God. Of course, there are many non-believers’ who accomplished much. But the quality of life and happiness is different.

One thing for sure now is that the 3rd generations will be peaceful and affluent provided they continue in their FAITH in God.

NOW, it is time for God’s Blessings balance sheet for Year End 2008;
