TeamFukuiWe can't believe it has been almost 3 weeks already in Japan!
When we first came, Fukui was quite different than what we had imagined.
We had imagined Fukui to be a crowded city with all different kinds of people on the streets, but what was before us was a 시골 instead. There's nobody on the streets and this area seems very quiet.
On our first day of mission work, we walked for over 7 hours because we got lost...
We were starving and all we knew how to say in Japanese was "where is McDonald's?" so we finally found McDonalds after asking around, and ate lunch at 5:30pm.
We thought looking for a McDonalds was a good idea because we knew there is one near our house, but we ended up in a McDonalds on the opposite direction from our home. ㅡ.ㅜ
When we came back we had blisters on our feet and we were looking and feeling like 거지s.
But after that experience we started to get a little more adjusted to the area, and we handed out flyers in Fukui.
We are very blessed to have such a warm and generous host family.
We have morning devotions at 7am with Pastor Lee every morning, and our 사모님 teaches us Japanese every night.
We have been doing special music for the past Sabbaths, and we will be giving our testimonies tomorrow.
We are surprised that this is such a small church yet there is so much faith amongst the members.
I hope this church continues to grow; and as one of our leaders said, "God's word needs to be spread vastly amongst all nations of the world."
Our church's goal for now is to reach 30 regularly-attending members. However it really is harder than I expected to evangelize in Japan, especially in Fukui, because people don't seem very open-minded towards religion.
So please pray for us!

Ohaiogozaimatsu! This is Pastor Kwon, once I called you. Thank you for sharing your mission story with us.
Thanks for coming to Japan to assist missionary family in Fukui.
As you mentioned it is not easy to lead people to Christian religion, therefore you are chosen by the Lord to be there.
I am writing from Nanjing, China. It was 35 degrees yesterday.
Also it is forecast it would be 35 degrees today. The members here 500 of them have Sabbath School outside the building last four years! But miraculously there have not been rainy on the Sabbath last four years! God is so good.
The same God, so good in China is with you this Sabbath in Japan. I am looking forward to reading and seeing more stories and picture. Happy Sabbath to both of you, Julia and Heather!
