---We need to look at Ephesians 6 on slaves and masters at various angles.

---Start with the rule that if one of them belongs to Christ, the Lord, with whom there is no partiality, his or her life attitudes, personality, character will change in sanctification after acceptance of Christ.

---A Christian Master will be kind, friendly, concern, worried for, caring towards, supplying to the slave whether Christian or not. Correct?

---We are Seventh day Adventist Christians. My mother in law is 90 and got bedridden sick. Cannot go to a toilet. What now?

---My wife is professor at our university and does not have the time to take care of her mother who moved in with us on campus.

---Solution? Hire a non-SDA caretaker.

---She sleeps with my mother in law in the same room.

---So what about Sabbath work?

---Toilet is toilet no matter what the day.

---But, because we are Christians and Sabbath keeping Christians, the law of God our Lord says that the worker in the house is not to work. Did you read that? I did.

---What if I have a very beautiful garden land or park and the government want me to keep it open for the public on Sabbath and my workers are not SDA and they work but I as an Adventist owner are coming to church? Cannot. Read Exodus 20 with a tooth-pick or chopsticks. Cannot. Correct?

---So we ask the caretaker if she can come to church with us in the morning and leave my mother in law alone during church time. Both agreed happily.

---We also said that in the afternoon after church, she can get off paid, and just go anywhere or to her children or house. Take off and come after sundown. She smiled and was very happy. Free money and rest. The Holy Spirit also smiled.

---The Holy Spirit never takes a rest or nap. After a few months, the caretaker wanted to be baptized and joined a baptismal preparation class.

---Is currently also a Christian Seventh Day Adventist. No washing dishes on Sabbath, no cooking, no cleaning the house or bathroom, no laundry on Sabbath. Just do nothing or go for a walk. The caretaker is very happy and told all her friends about the church on the phone.

---I believe this is what Paul had in mind in Ephesians 6.

---What if Christian Missionaries come to Africa to set up Mission stations for the Gospel?

---They come in colonial times when the Dutch, French, British people were in control and in South Africa after the emancipation from the British, the white Afrikaners were in control and the state church was the Dutch Reform Church.

---From 1652 the moved into the country and built mission stations and churches as they go. Africans were poor and with the tribes and captains and chiefs they had to contract for land to build and serve.

---As historiographer writing in modern times: should I focus on the unfairness of taking land from locals to build mission stations or churches?

---If the presuppositions of my baggage on my investigative back, includes doubts and suspicion and criticism for the faith expression of the Missionaries 50, 10, 200, 300, 4000 years ago, I either play in the hands of heaven or hell but not both.

---If I serve communism and their agnostic atheistic agendas for their style of socialism and criticize churches, missions, and try to destroy or destruct these, I am not playing the hands of heaven, but in the hands of “hell” which is Satan and his cronies.

---The historiographer may say, that he or she is agnostic and neither connected to Satan or Heaven, cannot. There are no middle-way in this cosmic struggle. Either heaven or hell. Nothing in between. Sorry.

---If not heaven, it is automatically hell.

---If my historiography about poor people, or slaves is not following the revealed Word of God as in the Bible, I am automatically in the “hell” category. Period.

---There are activists involved in post-colonial restitution, or transformation they call it, but one who is living in 2023 cannot decide what decisions should have been in 1870, or 1790 or 1660. And then insist that restitution should be made.

---We were not there to know what those generations sorted out between themselves. Correct?

---So Paul’s principle to slaves, poor, laborers, workers, caretakers is the same as to masters, owners, boss, CEO’s namely: Christ is Master of both and not partial and in judgment all will be equal before Him.

---If you are not master over sin as a slave then sin is master over you. If the CEO has sin as his master and not Christ, he is a slave as well.

---Ephesians tells these Christians, slave and master, how to get rid of enslavement and be good workers and good CEO’s. Correct?

---Are your workers work on Sabbath and only you come to church? Stop. When? Immediately.
