The word for Lebanon in Egyptian is Ramnon. There is an interchange of letters since the Egyptians do not have a /l/ in their alphabet.

The word for desert in English may be from the Egyptian word Dshrt.

The biblical word On in Egypt is ‘Iwnw in Egyptian (Gardiner 1927/1988: 106).

The Hebrew word ‘byr is related to the Egyptian word ‘ibr that means “stallion” (Gardiner 1927/1988: 552).

The Hebrew word for sea, ym or yom is related to the Egyptian word ym (Gardiner 1927/1988: 556).
