Van Wyk notes:

1. The report is in the I account of Sennacherib. He is talking of doing a war for his god Assur (Col. V line 72).

2. It appears that the description is during the Third Campaign (the first Jerusalem campaign) and that the later or second Jerusalem campaign described also in the Bible, is about the Assyrian losses of soldiers.

3. The scribe was a  Babylonian, judging from the number of Babylonian spellings that cropped out in the description.  However, the text is written in Assyrian for the king at Niniveh and with him in mind.

4. Our question is: how objective true is the reporter's account and how true is the I account of Sennacherib?

5. The reports of the Bible is objectively not taking sides. Of course it takes sides for God and faith, but the description of the data or events are given in such a way that if the believers are wrong that is not glossed over, patched up, ignored or hidden from the reader, as we find in the Assyrian historiography.
