Scientists at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel made a discovery of tooth decay on a fossil tooth said by them to be 1.5 million years old. It was published in Science Daily June 29, 2004. The tooth has evidence of hereditary genetic disorder.

The researchers dr. Uri Zilberman and Patricia Smith, the Joel Wilbush Professor of Medical Anthropology, both from the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the Hebrew University and dr. Silvana Condemi, a senior researcher at the French Research Institute in Jerusalem worked on the article in the Journal of Human Evolution that details the finding of a disease known as amelogenesis imperfecta in the teeth of a fossil found in archaeological excavations in Ethiopia. It is a two-year old Homo erectus child considered to be the precursor of modern man.

According to dr. Zilberman, this is the first recorded evidence from such an early prehistoric period of a hereditary disorder in which specific genes were responsible and can be identified. He thinks there may be other hereditary diseases as well.

Amelogenesis imperfecta is a hereditary disorder that manifests itself in tooth enamel that is abnormal in structure, low in mineral content and hence subject to rapid wear and chipping. These researchers confirmed the presence of the disease in the fossil sample through x-ray and scanning electron microscope analyses. This disease is rare today with 1 in 14000 people in Israel, 1 in 8000 in the USA and 1 in 700 in Sweden.

Bible and this Science

To bring science to the Bible is not only necessary but is the most realistic thing to do. The Bible is a record of the creation of the world in six literal days confirmed and repeated in nearly every book in the whole Bible. The literature that originated over a span of millennia echoes the same point that God was the creator not evolution and even through the Hellenistic Greek periods, this view has not waver.

Evolutionism is just as much build on a faith system of axioms no different than faith is needed to belief in God, in God as Creator and that He can create ex-nihilo and create instantaneously, spread out over a week.

The next point is that it is a fossil.

Fossils originated in biblical language as a result of the Flood of Noah. This worldwide catastrophe is dated in biblical chronology exactly to the year 2523 BCE. For discussions as to how to arrive at this date, please see this writer’s articles in http://www.egw.org  at VAN WYK NOTE. This homo erectus died in that flood.

Is homo erectus a human or an ape?

This question is not confirmed yet. Even scholars are not absolute sure about this issue. Those who want to see bridges between animals and humans will of course insist that they can see patterns, but iconographical pictures of apes from Egypt in 2300 BCE shows no difference in shape from the apes we have today.

What about Egyptian and Mesopotamian Chronology and the biblical date of 2523 BCE for Noah’s Flood?

George Hanfmann was the Egyptologist who reminded his readers that Egyptian and Mesopotamian chronology are not two stout pillars on which the facts of history are hanging. It is well said. For chronological discussions biblical, Mesopotamian, Egyptian, please see http://www.egw.org at VAN WYK NOTE.

Decay in 2523 BCE and its impact on the facts

There should be decay in 2523 BCE since after the Fall of Adam and Eve, decay was part of history. We have no evidence of the lives of people in a pre-flood scenario. All our facts in science started in 2523 BCE. History starts at 2523 BCE. All data, all science, all derivatives of ideas, languages, cultures, variations of peoples is traced to this year.

Seriations of Paleontology

The seriations of Paleontology is what it is, seriations and not chronology. It is parked guesses estimated on the slant of a shape in one direction or the other. A nice pattern is normally sought for the seriations. The consensus model of seriations has to be adapted biblically since there is no chance to overstep 2523 BCE. It is the same for Egyptology and Mesopotamian history from Sumer and Akkad. (For articles on these issues by this writer, see http://www.egw.org at VAN WYK NOTE).

Dating systems of Science

In a controversial debate of the evolutionist atheist Richard Dawkins with creationist John Mackoy, Dawkins tried to brush aside the six thousand years of earth’s history of Mackoy with the argument that so many scientific systems overlaps to give a more or less dating of objects of this earth in millions. Mackoy answered him fittingly, in that Youtube debate, that all these systems will overlap since all of them have chosen to look at the world through the Uniformatism axiom glasses of Victorian Age geologist Charles Lyell. They all presume that the present is a key to the past and since everything remained the same, what can be measured now can be used to measure back then. This is the fallacy according to Mackoy. Mackoy says that the only way new systems are invented is because the previous ones did not work properly. That is why potassium-argon, carbon 14 dating and other systems are not reliable evidence for distant history, since catastrophes could have altered the reliability of measuring systems in the distant past. The Worldwide flood is well admitted and evidenced around the globe and that it was water, sometimes water with volcanoes and strong streams can be seen in the lava flow, the sediments in canyons and other evidence.

Decay of tooth may mean that this ape was a handicap ape?

If this strange homo erectus had decay evidence in the tooth, then is it possible that the form and shape of this ape appearing human or human appearing ape has to do with genetic disorders?
