1 Face to face with Christ, my Savior,

Face to face—what will it be,

When with rapture I behold Him,

Jesus Christ who died for me?

 

face to face: 대면하여, 마주 대하여

savior: 구세주

rapture: 큰 기쁨, 환희

behold: 바라보다

 

Refrain:

Face to face I shall behold Him,

Far beyond the starry sky;

Face to face in all His glory,

I shall see Him by and by!

 

far: 멀리

beyond: ~의 저쪽에

starry: 별이 많은

glory: 영광

by and by: 곧, 잠시 후

 

2 Only faintly now I see Him,

With the darkened veil between,

But a blessed day is coming,

When His glory shall be seen.

 

faintly: 희미하게

darkened: 어두운

veil: 베일, 휘장

blessed: 은총입은, 축복받은

 

3 What rejoicing in His presence,

When are banished grief and pain;

When the crooked ways are straightened,

And the dark things shall be plain.

 

rejoicing: 기쁨

banish: 추방하다, 내쫓다

grief: 슬픔

pain: 고통

crooked: 비뚤어진, 구부러진

straighten: 똑바르게 되다

plain: 명백한

 

4 Face to face—oh, blissful moment!

Face to face—to see and know;

Face to face with my Redeemer,

Jesus Christ who loves me so.

 

blissful: 복된

moment: 순간

redeemer: 구속주
