We are aware of English translations of Qumran texts and a quick peek into the originals today reveals a chance to bring out a more accurate translation of the English.

1.     The Qumran fragment was published in 2000 in the DJD series Volume XVI and it can be found on plate XXX as number 7. Line 2 deals with Daniel 2:47.

2.     We placed the following registers:

a.     A literal English translation of the original Hebrew of the Masoretic Text tradition from which most of our English translations were made.

b.     The Spanish translation of Cassiodoro de Reina in 1569 just for cross-reference. It is public domain on Internet and the suppliers should be recognized.

c.     The Portugese translation of João Ferreira de Almeida of 1719 also just for cross-reference. It is public domain on Internet and the suppliers should be recognized.

d.     German translation of Martin Luther in 1540 which is also just for cross-reference. It is public domain on Internet and suppliers should be recognized.

e.     Middle English translation of John Wycliffe 1384 which is also public domain on Internet and the suppliers should be recognized. It is merely for cross-reference since the translation was made from the Vulgate.

f.      The original Hebrew text reconstructed from BHS.

g.     Qumran fragment of 4QDana English translation.

h.     Qumran fragment 4QDana number 7 line 2 in English showing the available text.

i.      Masoretic Text or original Hebrew just for cross-reference.

The copyright of the project is claimed since the project came over many years and are far advanced, also for Qumran.

The intention is to supply the English Qumran register with an Afrikaans translation, Korean translation and a Japanese translation. Then it will be ready for publication.
