Woman Ordination a no-no for Johannes Oecolampadius following the Bible

---An article on Johannes Oecolampadius by a female Mickey L. Mattox at Marquette University (2015) brought more insights into this Reformer.

---Just like the General Conference decision three times now in a row, so also was the standpoint of Oecolampadius, the Reformer already in 1531.

---Oecolampadius was well versed in Hebrew, Greek and Latin and in 1531 was lecturing on Genesis.

---He focused on the goodness of Eve (Mattox found).

---He focused on her original equality with Adam (Mattox found).

---[Of course in Eden it is not physically equal when she is derived from his rib. She was not from independent dust] Right?

---Oecolampadius insisted that Eve was subordinate to her husband after the Fall (Mattox found).

---He had a concept of husband and wife as partners with equal dignity on the path to salvation (Mattox found).

---He describes that they move in the direction of a compassionate marriage (Mattox found).

---These views were all expressed also by the three GC Sessions and decision against Woman Ordination in 2015.

---But a scholar of Johannes Oecolampadius living in the NAD zone of the General Conference, came to the conclusion: “it stops short of calling for women’s equality in the public sphere” = Woman Ordination.
