O Lord
When I walked into the church
the headelder waved from the front
and so did I
You know the heart of us both
and You know so well his wife and his 
claim to their assets in the church.
They donated so much of their capital
to get the church in such a beautiful state

Their assets they claim
the selfsame assets gives them power
power to say who preach and who not
who serve as deacons and who not
who will be pastor and who not
who will remain pastor and who not

But they are not gossiping
at least not before your shepherd 
It is the younger inexperienced ones 
who do the backtalking, complaining
while the headelder and his eyerolling wife
comfort the pastor for the bad behavior of people
People they set up behind the scenes.

So when the waving came by walking into the church
my waving is not to be one of his controlled -
Not at all
it is an independent acknowledgement
a protocol expected of all heartfelt Christians
a solemn realization that God keeps bad company
an assurance that You will work things out
also for him and his wife
and their whole VIP team

and me and my wife
even independently
can worship our Creator and Redeemer
with a smile on our faces.
Shepherd supportive, VIP independent, assets absconding
hoping to serve rather than to be served
giving rather than to receive
drinking in the sermons and messages of your shepherd
clinging to Your Word
singing with no intention of handraising, handclapping,
halleluya shouting, electronic device manupilations
but hymns with a long history
and deep message.

Accept our worship o Lord!
