근본적인 원인
The Bottom Line Cause

9. And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking.
10. Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.

11 And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight because of his son.
12 And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.
13 And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.

Question: Why did it distress Abraham?

1) Though God loved both, the promised line would be through Isaac

14 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.
15 And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs.

10. 그가 아브라함에게 이르되 이 여종과 그 아들을 내쫓으라 이 종의 아들은 내 아들 이삭과 함께 기업을 얻지 못하리라 하므로

11 아브라함이 그의 아들로 말미암아 그 일이 매우 근심이 되었더니
12 하나님이 아브라함에게 이르시되 네 아이나 네 여종으로 말미암아 근심하지 말고 사라가 네게 이른 말을 다 들으라 이삭에게서 나는 자라야 네 씨라 부를 것임이니라
13 그러나 여종의 아들도 네 씨니 내가 그로 한 민족을 이루게 하리라 하신지라

질문: 왜 아브라함이 근심하였나요?
1) 사라에게 화가 났으므로
2) 이스마엘도 그의 아들이었으므로

질문: 이 말씀을 읽을 때 하나님께서 이스마엘도 사랑하셨다고 생각하나요?

1) 하나님은 둘 다 사랑하셨으나 약속된 후손은 이삭을 통해서일 것이었으므로
2) 이 두 이복형제들이 제한된 같은 공간 안에서 잘 어울려 지내지 못할 것임을 보셨으므로
3) 하나님께서는 약속된 후손이 태어날 계보를 보전하기 원하셨다
4) 이는 하나님께서 공평치 않으시고 언제나 편애를 하시는 분이기 때문이었다

14 아브라함이 아침에 일찍이 일어나 떡과 물 한 가죽부대를 가져다가 하갈의 어깨에 메워 주고 그 아이를 데리고 가게 하니 하갈이 나가서 브엘세바 광야에서 방황하더니
15 가죽부대의 물이 떨어진지라 그 자식을 관목 덤불 아래에 두고

질문: 아브라함이 그들을 집에서 쫓아내면서 어떻게 느꼈을까요?
1) 몹시 슬펐다
2) 문제가 해결되어 기뻤다

16 이르되 아이가 죽는 것을 차마 보지 못하겠다 하고 화살 한 바탕 거리 떨어져 마주 앉아 바라보며 소리 내어 우니
