A student in Syriac has to read texts. Here is an interlinear that this researcher has prepared for Daniel 8. It is translated into Afrikaans en also divided according to the content into sections. With dr. Leonna Running of Andrews University, the emeritus professor who was William Foxwell Albright's secretary, the book we used was that of Theodore H. Robinson, Paradigms and Exercises: Syriac Grammar (Oxford: Oxford Press, 1986). Dr. Running was able to correct the grammar since there were a number of errors in it. She found errata on page 31, 52, 69, 90, 9, 24, 109, 5, 64, 67, 70, 92, 97, 107, 133, 134, 138, 139, 142, 143, 151, 145, 152, 156, 198, 12. Most students think that grammars and dictionaries are perfect. They are until you read them very carefully. Dr. Running did that. The other teacher of this researcher was dr. Johann Cook of Stellenbosch University. While dr. Running is retired and living in Berrien Springs, Michigan, dr. Cook is still active teaching.
