   하늘 가는 밝은 길이

The Bright, Heavenly Way

 

1. The bright heavenly way before me

Lies clearly in my sight

And though sorrows sore beset me

And troubles black as night

At the splendor from the skies

Every darkling shadow flies

While we trust the grace of Jesus

And look ever to that light

 

bright: 밝은

heavenly: 하늘의

lie: 눕다, 놓여 있다, (길이) 뻗어 있다

clearly: 분명히

sight: 시야

though: 비록 ~ 일지라도

sorrow: 슬픔

sore: 아픈

beset: 에워싸다

splendor: 빛남, 광휘

darkling: 어두운

fly: 날다, 날아가다

trust: 신뢰하다

 

2. When I think on all the worries

Which in my world I see,

Inner fears and outer trials

Seem nigh too much for me

But the blood of Christ our Lord

Puts them wholly to the sword,

While we trust the grace of Jesus

And shall ever victors be.

 

worry: 염려

inner: 안의, 내부의 <--> outer: 밖의, 외부의

fear: 두려움

seem: ~ 으로 보이다

nigh: 가까이, 가까이에, 가까운

blood: 피

wholly: 전적으로

sword: 검, 칼

victor: 승리자

 

3. Drawing nearer to that city

Yet seen by faith alone,

Longing for the Father's mansions

And rest before the throne,

All unworthy though I be

There is welcome there for me,

For the King is our own Jesus,

Lord and Saviour of His own.

 

draw: 끌다, 빨아들이다, 접근하다

nearer: 더 가까이

yet: 아직

faith: 믿음

alone: 다만, 단지

long: 간절히 바라다, 그리워하다

mansion: 대저택

rest: 쉬다, 쉼

throne: 왕좌, 보좌

unworthy: 가치 없는

welcome: 환영
