1 Far and near the fields are teeming
With the waves of ripened grain;
Far and near their gold is gleaming
O'er the sunny slope and plain.

Lord of harvest, send forth reapers!

Send them now the sheaves to gather,

Lord: 주, 주인

harvest: 추수, 수확

reap: 수확하다, 거두다

thee: (고어, 시어) you (목적격)

sheaf: 다발, 단. 복수: sheaves

gather: 모으다

harvest-time: 추수때

pass by: 지나가다

 

2 Send them forth with morn's first beaming;
Send them in the noontide's glare;
When the sun's last rays are gleaming,
Thou shalt come with joy untold.

3 O thou whom thy Lord is sending,
Gather now the sheaves of gold;
