히브리어 샤마임(shamaim)이 우리 성경에는 공히 하늘로 번역되었으나 NIV 영어성경에서 한 번은 heaven으로, 한 번은 sky로 번역되었군요. 여기서는 별 차이가 없이 같은 뜻으로 보입니다. 그런데 바울은 셋째 하늘에 다녀왔다고 하지요? 성경에서 우리가 사는 대기권의 하늘은 첫째 하늘(sky), 별들이 있는 우주의 하늘을 둘째 하늘, 하나님께서 계시는 하늘을 셋째 하늘(heaven)이라고 합니다. 하나님 계신 하늘 왕국의 신민으로 사는 하루를 보냅시다.

The Hebrew word "shamaim" is translated in Korean as "하늘," but in NIV English Bible, it is one time translated as "heaven" and one time as "sky" in this verse. There seems no difference between these words here. Have you heard Paul was caught up to the "third heaven"? In the biblical world, the atmosphere around earth is called 1st heaven(sky), the firmament in which stars are shining is called 2nd heaven, and the third heaven is where God is, and called as heaven. As we live today, let us live as citizens of heavenly kingdom where our God is.
