and Galatians 4:4 both show a proper reading of Daniel 9:24-27. By Paul! Using
the year-day principle! ---Daniel
predicted more than 500 years before the exact year Christ was supposed to die! ---Did you know
that the Catholic Theologian Thomas Aquinas in 1200 also supported the year-day
principle to calculate the 490 days prophecy of Daniel 9:24-27 to arrive at the
exact date of Jesus’crucifixion? ---And the
Calvinist theologian Johannes Oecolampadius in his Daniel Commentary. And the
Reformer George Joye with his Daniel commentary in 1540. ---And the
papist, ecumenist, lawyer theologian Hugo Grotius with his comments on Daniel
in 1650’s. ---The
Messianic expectation in the days of Jesus was very high and every now and then
someone mentioned it like the woman at the well in John 3. ---The Qumran
understanding included this calculation as well. See the discussions on the Jubilees
at Qumran. They also used the year-day principle as R. Beck showed in his
studies in Review Qumran. What date is the Qumran texts in those caves
at the Dead Sea? 250 BC and later. Carbon tests proved this. ---So Jesus
came on time. The year-day principle, namely a prophetic day equals a prophetic
year should be applied to long-time prophecies in Daniel. ---Therefore,
prophecy 1.1 is Catholic Thomas Aquinas. ---Prophecy 2.1
is predecessors of Adventism applying the year-day to other the 1260 and 2300
days prophecies as well. ---Prophecy 3.1
are the Millerites and their Second Coming expectation. ---Prophecy 4.1
are Adventists with their application of the year-day principle to every
long-time prophecy in Daniel: 1290, 1260. 1335 and 2300 and 490 years. Why only
one, namely, 490 when you can have all? That is what Adventists asks. ---So the last
date for Adventists are on the Josiah Litch chart that is 1844. ---In Journals
from 1944 to 1850 people kept guessing that next year it will be and it went on
for a number of years. But, Ellen White and the Pioneers after a proper view of
the Sanctuary Message and Most Holy entering of Christ phase, said no, the last
date is 1844 which was correct. No more speculation please. ---That is
prophecy 4.1. And it is Adventist. There are Adventists personally who still
guess 1290 and 1335. But Ellen White supported Josiah Litches’ chart ending in
1844 from 508 AD. ---So what is
the rule from 1844 until the Second Coming? ---Wait. ---Then the
lesson says that we have to wait. ---“There are
many important spiritual reasons why we will experience waiting times. ---First,
waiting can refocus our attention away from “things” and back to God Himself. ---Second,
waiting allows us to develop a clearer picture of our own motives and desires. ---Third,
waiting builds perseverance—spiritual stamina. ---Fourth,
waiting opens the door to developing many spiritual strengths, such as faith
and trust. ---Fifth,
waiting allows God to put down other pieces in the puzzle of the bigger
picture. ---Sixth, we
may never know the reason we have to wait; hence, we learn to live by faith.” ---God is
putting other pieces of the puzzle down. Like the floods, hurricanes, Typhoons,
earthquakes on a worldwide scale. ---Wait in
faith and prepare the character with prayer and study and self-surrender to
God. That is the key.
