Karl Barth son, Marcus Barth, forgot the Footwashing
as prelude and intertwined combo to the Lord’s Supper
---Marcus Barth was the author of a good
work on Ephesians. Source: Marcus Barth, “Ephesians,” I,
in The Anchor Bible (Garden City, N.Y.:Doubleday &
Company, Inc., 1974). ---It is really a pity that the son of
Karl Barth spent his whole life to analyze the Lord’s Supper and died (1st
of July) in the same year as Gerhard Hasel (11th of August) but that
in all his research and books he did not understand what the role of
Footwashing is to the Lord Supper! ---The two are combo ceremonies intertwined
and cannot be separated. Ask Seventh-day Adventists about it. ---Marcus analyzed The Lord’s Supper as
having three basic meanings: Passover Meal, Covenant Meal, and Messianic Meal. ---Adventists can live with this but where
is the meaning of the Footwashing as a symbol of the Incarnation of Christ? The
Bending down from heaven of the Creator God to serve man washing their feet!
Dramatic prelude to the Lord’s Supper! ---Catholics and Reformed Traditions and
all Protestant churches missed this exciting prelude incorporated by Christ on
purpose into the Lord’s Supper. ---The giving up of self the emptying of
everything and the giving of the gift of service of His life for us, unpaid
for, free to all, also washed Judas Iscariot! ---But nothing is said of this by Marcus
Barth, the son of the famous Karl Barth. Source: Paul Nimmo, “Markus Barth on the Lord’s Supper” University
of Aberdeen, Aberdeen, Scotland, UK, 2020 paul.nimmo@abdn.ac.uk

---We have to conclude that Marcus Barth
who had an interest in the Lord’s Supper did not fully understood that great
topic. ---His analysis of the four or more
meanings of the symbolism in this great event is fine. ---But he did not understand it fully
because we do not find any words of him on the ceremony of the Footwashing. ---Footwashing is absolutely connected to
the Lord Supper in John 13. ---From Marcus in 1970’s to 2020 with
Nimmo’s article on the Lord’s Supper, Catholics and Protestants still did not
wake up on a proper exegesis of John 13. Sleeping like Laodicea is a good
description. Right? Source for a proper Adventist discussion on the Lord's Supper. https://documents.adventistarchives.org/SSQ/SS19531001-04.pdf
