---Why was Jonah included in the Bible? ---For unwilling Missionaries and pastors. For
bad pastors and bad missionaries. ---Will you take the Sabbath School Lesson
for us this week in church? Oh. No. I have another appointment that day. My
children from another town is visiting and we are not sure where we will go. ---Will you go? I need to do business in
Tarsus. ---What is the Tarsus excuse in your life?
What is the call of God in your life? ---Can you pray in church this Sabbath? I am
so sorry but…[bla, bla, blip, gulp]. ---Jonah! ---But the book is not about conversion of
the unexpected out there in the field of harvest. It is about the conversion of
the unexpected situation with the pastor. Pastor Jonah. ---Pastor Jonah did everything wrong in the
Church Manual for Workers and Ministers. ---He did not follow one single rule. When
he sit, stand, speak, walk, talk, pray, he is out of step with God. Correct? ---It is the worst pastor that is not a
model for us but an example of a pastor that is taken from laziness to new
insights in God. ---God so love the world that He gave His
only begotten Son to die for us and live for us… ---That is what Jonah said he knew…and ran
away from! He admitted it in his prayer in Jonah 2. ---The Isaiah 6 call is daily: Who shall we
send and who shall go for us? ---What vision did Isaiah receive in his
day? Of the end of the Investigative Judgment work of Christ when He will be
crowned with glory and His glory will fill the temple before He goes out as
described in the last part of Revelation 14. Correct? ---When is that? Soon. Violence, war,
earthquakes, Covid, 911, 211 (Japan), floods, strange rain patterns, leadership
drain (Isaiah 24), is around us and the Investigative Judgment is still going
on but nearing its end. ---Who shall go for us [it is asked in
Isaiah 6 for people to prepare? To get ready. ---To go to church. ---At the age of 21 or 22 John Calvin began
to see that what Luther wrote and other Reformers sermons, made sense. It was
around 1527/8. ---He accepted Justification and Christ only
in his life then. But, he loved the church that was wrong. What now? ---The 18th of October the
General Assembly of the Dutch Reform Church in South Africa embrazed
homosexuals in their church and gay weddings. ---The dolering congregations, more than 153
of them wants to separate from this decision to cling to culture and
worldliness rather than the biblical precepts. ---There decision is: break away or stay> ---Who shall go for us? That is the voice to
the true believers of the Bible who should break away from this wrong church as
Calvin struggled to break away from the Catholic Church in 1529. ---The Anabaptists were burned by the
Catholics and as monk he was standing in the audience in 1529. They appeared as
a sect against Infant Baptism and freedom of the will by Johannes Denck in
1926. “No man may truly know Christ,
except he follow him in life’ [mit dem Leben]”, Denck said. ---Another Anabaptist Bernhard Rothmann
said: “And if we, with constant
diligence, earnestly do what we understand we will daily be taught further by
God”. ---Anabaptist (Adult baptizer) Hans Hut said
that “attaining to the truth was a
process that took place in following the footsteps of Christ, not by attending
the universities in Paris or Wittenberg. The readiness to obey Christ's words
is prerequisite to understanding them. Thus all the sophistication of
interpretive methodology will be of no avail if the reader and interpreter of
Scripture is not ready to obey Christ's words in his life.” ---But because of Hut’s revolutionary
eschatolology views of applying the Bible literally in a wrong way, not
historicistically but futuristically, they wanted to create by politics the
kingdom of God on earth like the Baptists did in wars in the Middle East. ---Calvin felt that they were innocent and
biblicists or Bible believing individuals and that burning them was wrong. Some
was right and some were wrong. ---After some studies in law he was trying
to defend their lives in 1533. ---He liked their piety. That is why Calvin
can pray very well until his death. ---But, then in 1534 Calvin at the age of
25, unfortunately dedicated some work of his to Emperor Frederick saying to him
just the opposite! ---He said that the problems that Frederick
is experiencing in society, is not the Reformers but these crazy and chaotic
Anabaptists! 180 degrees change. To political gain! ---From tolerance for the Anabaptists to
intolerance. Source: https://archive.org/stream/essaysonbiblical01swar/essaysonbiblical01swar_djvu.txt ---He would reject adult baptism and be less
outspoken on sanctification slightly from this point on. He would cling to
Luther’s solas. ---Remember that sola is invented and
carried into the Bible. There is no sola in the Bible! ---The only sola is that you cannot have any
other god than God! God only. ---So Calvin may have lost his vision from
this time on and although Reformers told him about the Sanctuary in Heaven he
grew strange to the messages of Hebrews 7-10. ---Example: See for Hebrews 9:5 where he
said: “Of which we cannot
now, etc. As nothing can satisfy, curious men, the apostle cuts off every
occasion for refinements unsuitable to his present purpose, and lest a longer
discussion of these things should break off the thread of his argument. If,
therefore, any one should disregard the Apostle’s example, and dwell more
minutely on the subject, he would be acting very unreasonably. There might be,
indeed, an occasion for doing this elsewhere; but it is now better to attend to
the subject of which he treats: it may further be said, that to philosophize
beyond just limits, which some do, is not only useless, but also dangerous. There
are some things which are not obscure and fitted for the edification of faith;
but discretion and sobriety ought to be observed, lest we seek to be wise above
what God has been pleased to reveal.” Source: https://ccel.org/ccel/c/calvin/calcom44/cache/calcom44.pdf ---In another example J. Fisher demonstrate that Calvin told some Reformers not to waste time on the detail of the Sanctuary in the Book of Hebrews. ---The issue is: churches are wrong and
people cannot just sit in those wrong churches? Correct? Jonah was biblically wrong
and one cannot just let him be wrong functioning in the church paid by tithes
and offerings. Because it is a lot of motion…but no movement. That is why. ---What need people do when their church is
not following the Bible? Leave. When? Immediately. Is your phone ready to call
an Adventist church near you?
