The morning
Manna will be provided at 6am. Thanks. Studying
Genesis in the SSnet.org series Lesson 9, may the Holy Spirit be the speaker to
your heart. The Topic today
is: "Worthy of the Price He paid for me". The Opening
Hymn will be 229 "Spirit of the Living God" The Sabbath
School Quarterly, downloadable from SSnet.org in the Teacher's Edition is on
page 117 and for the laymen edition or Standard Edition, on page 78. The SSnet.org
site allows anyone, anywhere to read the lesson in their own language. Choose
your own language to see God speaking also to your heart. ---Jacob was
agnostic. ---After you
accept Jesus Christ in your life, you are not. ---James said
that faith without works is dead. ---Romans said
that you are saved by faith without works. ---Paul looks
at the beginning as a starter. ---James looks
at the middle, when sanctification kicks in. ---Are works
important? Edward Heppenstall in Christ our High Priest said "Yes".
We will be judged in the Investigative Judgment by our works. ---So we should
not polarize "faith" with "works" and use Romans to throw
out works of faith. Agnostic works cannot save. Never. Atheistic works cannot
save. Never. ---But the
sinner who casts his/her whole life on Christ, will render works that fit a
believer because one needs to be worth of the price He paid for us. ---What was
given on the cross is not honey, but blood. ---It is not a
cheap easy ticket to heaven although it is free. It comes with a price. The
price of self-surrender. Pride must be put away daily. ---Commitment
and surrendering to Christ daily and obediently walking in His ways is what
Ellen White had in mind. ---Some of our
members think parroting Reformed Theology on the first part like Luther but not
the second part like Ellen White, the enabling grace part. ---Salvation by
grace plus enabling grace to walk obediently in sanctification. That is the
full Adventist gospel which is biblical and Spirit of Prophecy. Nothing less.
