The morning
Manna will be provided at 6am. Thanks. Studying
Genesis in the SSnet.org series Lesson 10, may the Holy Spirit be the speaker
to your heart. The Topic today
is: "Jacob meets Esau". The Opening
Hymn will be 229 "Spirit of the Living God" The Sabbath
School Quarterly, downloadable from SSnet.org in the Teacher's Edition is on
page 126 and for the laymen edition or Standard Edition, on page 82. The SSnet.org
site allows anyone, anywhere to read the lesson in their own language. Choose
your own language to see God speaking also to your heart. ---One should
not miss the depths of understanding of dr. Doukhan in this lesson. ---Penuel means
the "face of God" and that is where Jacob had an experience with God
face to face. ---It changed
his life. ---Instead of
warmongering he came with peace. ---Typical as
the custom was for respect in Egypt to the pharaoh namely to bow seven times
(see the later Amarna Tablets), Jacob did that to Esau. ---Ambassadors
were supposed to do that to the Pharaoh of Egypt in Amarna Times 1405-1380 BC. ---The whole
experience became a second Penuel for Jacob. ---Esau instead
of killing, forgave him and the two wept. ---Jacob says
it was as if he saw the face of God again. ---Why, dr.
Doukhan says the word ratsah is sacrifice connected especially to a forgiveness
sacrifice in Leviticus 22:27 and Amos 5:22. ---When one is
at peace with God one is also at peace with one's fellow men. ---Jacob
understood now the meaning of grace (dr. Doukhan) but also the meaning of
sinlessness in one's life when Jesus said in John 5 and in John 8 "go and sin
no more". Ellen White says that without sinlessness in our lifes, we will not
be able to join the Second Coming. ---it is not
for us to question the ability of the Holy Spirit to bring us to a successful
second Penuel experience. Many preachers are doubting that because they are
misconceived by the Age of Relativism "no one can be perfect". ---It is not
biblical. It is not God's way and not Penuel II.
