Moving experience of Sabbath at “Bethel” Church:

May 29, 2010

3 Korean missionaries, 2 Maha Congolese missionaries, 1 Maha dispatched pastor have visited Bethel and worshipped on Sabbath., May 29th, 2010.

3 years ago, Pr and Mrs. Lukando was dispatched first time to Bethel and they have evangelized this area so much that the Field (NKF) has transferred him to Lukanga district.

Most of Maha Mission’s site is a remote and difficult locations and to expect pastor and family tostay longer than 2 years is not recommended.

We wish to meet and work together again with Pr Lukando after his spiritual training in Lukanga.

Although Paul was an able Biblical scholar, didn’t he go to Arabia for 3 years of spiritual training before embarking his mission trips?

We are happy Mrs. Lukando will resume her unfinished study at Lukanga with SMI scholarship.

We also would like to mention Pr Kataliko, principal of “Bethel Seo High School”, funded by Seo, In Han of Korea through BMW.

School is progressing well and most of students became Adventists.

While he was dispatched to school from construction stage alone, his wife was on top of a truck that has overturned, 50 people were riding and 18 of them died, but God spared Mrs. Kataliko (separately mission report issued) with minor injuries, another experience God cares!

Thus, we return all glory to God for special privileges to work with pastors of good faith.

“Bethel” has many stories;

1st Elder Leku arrived alone in 1985. 10 years later, 2nd Elder Nzia arrived in 1995.

And they did not own anything, thus agreed to go on top of a lone tree on top of Maaracha hill, 7-8km away, 3 times a week.

Leku, at bottom of a tree, read the Bible or preach, Nzia, on a tree, repeats loudest for far reaching, for 12 years and we met in Aug. 2007.

(mission report issued. Anyone wishes, please ask email.)

Today, Bethel became mission of northeast of Congo DR, SDA voted for “Mission” (smaller than Field) office in Aru soon.

God tells us to preach Gospel in this vast forgotten area.

As photos attached, Bethel produced already 3branches; 1st is “Mite”, 2nd “Maaracha” and 3rd is “Nyai”. We have visited suddenly without notice. SDA farmers working notice us far away, came to welcome us with tree branches. Short devotional and donated for iron sheet roof.

This temporary church has tree covered roof and now that it is rainy season, they quite often get wet. If no rain, to worship God in nature He created is a privilege in Congo, Africa.

Maha Mission expresses special thanks to those who has been praying and supporting for us.

At the same time, Maha wishes to thank to all pastors, missionaries who devoted themselves for Bethel SDA Church.

We pray God remembers them!
