The morning
Manna will be provided at 6am. Thanks. Studying
Genesis in the SSnet.org series Lesson 6, may the Holy Spirit be the speaker to
your heart. The Topic today
is: "The Tithe Abraham paid to Melchizedek". The Opening
Hymn will be 229 "Spirit of the Living God" The Sabbath
School Quarterly, downloadable from SSnet.org in the Teacher's Edition is on
page 77 and for the laymen edition or Standard Edition, on page 51. The SSnet.org
site allows anyone, anywhere to read the lesson in their own language. Choose
your own language to see God speaking also to your heart. Dr. Doukhan in
these lessons brings out the "now" of God in small nuances packed
into the bibical "suitcase" specially for all, including us. For
every generation. Enjoy God now
with both the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy as your daily guide on your knees
with the Guide, the Spirit of the Living God. God is looking
now at your response to His interest in you. ---Dr. Doukhan
wrote so well, I cannot improve. ---Melchizedek
"My king is just" or "righteous". ---He was a
person not a divine figure. ---He also
believed in the same God as Abraham. ---He was a
priest for God. ---They must
have had the "tabernacle" concept of worship with offerings because
Abel and Cain did and Noah. ---Scanty data
does not mean scanty ideas, as a famous non-SDA scholar W. Eichrodt thought in
his two volumes of Old Testament Theology. Actually the opposite. Scanty data
means full understanding. ---Law giving
at Sinai is only necessary when they forgot God's law. ---Melchizedek
was another system than Levitical. Christ was from Melchizedek not Levitical. ---Wine was not
alcoholic but fresh-pressed grape juice (Deuteronomy 7:13, 2 Chronicles 31:5). ---Christ's
wine at Cana was non-alcoholic in similar vein. ---Alcohol and
yeast signifies sin and Christ is sinless. ---We do not
give tithe to God because it is His anyway. We only start giving after the
tithe. ---Dr. Doukhan
said the tithe is not to God but from God. He is the owner anyway. Great ideas.
---Do you
belong to a denomination that do not have tithe's? Consider today about
this. ---God does not
write "rule-books" but scatter His rules in the lives of people like
Abraham, Abel, Cain and Noah and others. Malachi saying you bring your tithes
and offerings to the Lord and He open the windows of heaven for you. ---Some say, I
do not give because they are Pharisees who are in the church. Christ gave and
support tax to heathen's. Give Caesar what is his. He did not know where the
money went, did He?
