<Follow the Bible> Bible Celebration:
66 language Bible has arrived at Moldova.
SDA Moldova Union (of churches) has received an official permit to use the venue of plaza in front of parliament.
In August, 2009, after 2nd round of national election (because people protested the 1st election was rigged and illegal.), “Democratic Alliance” has won a simple majority. The Communists were in process of mobilizing any tactic to disturb Democrats for smooth transition of power.
During this time, the Communists were objecting the Democrats victory was illegal, and the Orthodox was objecting and has sued to court to cancel Kishinau City’s permit to allow Adventist Celebration of the Bible.
Kishinau City had surrendered its authority to the pressures of the Communists and the Orthodox by cancelling the permit. They have demonstrated themselves clearly they are partners and the Orthodox is a slave to power.
The Orthodox (98% of population) started to be more vocal and visible in their objection to the Adventists;
1. The Adventists use different Bible. (They might mean Ellen G. White books)
2. Sued to court to cancel the permit issued by Kishinau city as illegal.
Of course, the court is means of justifying the Communists actions.
3. Kishinau City Hall has surrendered to pressure and cancelled their permit to the Adventists.
4. The orthodox were not satisfied with this; the same plaza they had cancelled the Adventists use, they had demonstration of anti-Adventist, claiming shamefully, <”Moldova is Orthodox country”>
5. However, the Adventists continued their Bible celebration through out Moldova. The orthodox continued to disturb celebration in many places of Moldova.
<Originally, the Roman Emperors were continuously persecuting Christians, finally, the Emperor Constantine declared Christians as “religio licita” (legal religion). Then within Catholic (universal – only Christian church then) it was divided; those who opposed Catholic bishops who surrendered Bible in return for life became Orthodox (righteous). As time goes by they became un-orthodox. We learn ourselves how important it is a sanctified living with the Bible the only authority, and correct interpretation of Bible.>
Some says faith grows during difficult time and during persecution.
I do not know whether this is correct statement.
Now, the Adventists has endured and kept their faith;
-during difficult Stalin Communists days, underground seminary survived.
-during neo-Communist regime, they have held on to their faith, united.
Reasonable religious freedom has arrived by the victory of Democrats in Moldova.
We pray Moldavian Adventists faith was not merely as a reaction to the Communist and the Orthodox persecution, but as a firm faith based on trust in God.
The spring of religious liberty has come, and we pray the Adventists would not fall to sleep, or become proud of their faith.
As Paul says we have to run the race to the final destination. This is our prayer.
