that “the common people heard him gladly” (Mark 12:37). Most of the people in
the large crowds who followed and listened to Jesus were members of this class,
the common people.” ---Are you common or high and mighty? ---Are you spiritual or secular? ---Is church for you just a space to relax
and socialize? Or a space where you seek God? ---The next verses explain what seek
means: Matthew 6:25–33 Isaiah 26:3 1 John 1:9 2 Chronicles 7:14 Deuteronomy 30:19 and 20 ---God said to Moses three things in verse
20: Love God; Obey Him; Cling to Him. ---We all love and obey but do we cling? ---When do you cling? When you slip. When
forces pull you down. When you lose your balance. So how do you get yourself in
order? Cling. ---How do people cling? Holistically. With
your hands and feet and body and mind and spirit. IQ, EQ and SQ (spiritual). ---You hold on to Christ and that is
cling. You do not let go. ---When forces pull you down, you cling
and say: I will not let go. ---Jacob in the Jacob Trouble experience
was clinging to Christ and did not want Him to go. That is what Moses is
talking about. ---When people blame. You cling. ---When people push you to non-importance.
You cling. ---Like a tree standing by the waterside,
I will not be moved. ---Are you clinging? You love and obey the
Lord, but do you cling?
