---Yes, Judaism in Inter-testamental times
and later also went overboard with rules regarding the staying away of the
heathen from the temple where the Holy God is. ---It is in essence the rule: Do not bring
Satan close to God. Cannot. ---We have that rule in our Church Manual. Only people baptized can
vote. ---The Baptized and the unbaptized,
separation, barrier, wall. Is it wrong? No. ---But walking in the street meeting a
heathen and then to walk on the other side of the road avoiding any contact or
communication, is wrong. ---That is what Judaism of the first
century did. Take the Samaritans as an example. ---Paul was a preacher to Gentiles in the
Greek, Roman and other world and surroundings. ---James was a preacher to Jews in the
Jewish, Greek, Roman and other world in Jerusalem and surroundings. ---Many Gentiles would come to church and
the Jewish converts would require all kinds of rules and regulations to be
kept. Peter and Paul had a problem on this between themselves. It is in Acts. ---Paul would say to them: By faith are
you saved and not by works. (Ephesians 2:8) ---God then revealed to Peter his error in
Acts 10 and it was solved in his mind. ---Many Jews who were liberal and secular in
Jerusalem would join the Christian church and say wow what a nice religion that
you do not have all these works to do. ---James would say to them: Do you see
that we are not only saved by faith but also by works [of the ten commandments]?
(James 2:24). ---When Martin Luther came to these two
verses in the New Testament, he said that James is a “letter of straw”. He
rejected James idea. ---Luther offered his doctoral degree to
anyone who could solve this contrast between the two texts. ---Contrast? No. Two sides of one coin.
Not an oil-painting with only one side. ---The strong avoidance rules of the Jews
of that time, like the Samaritans, Jesus and Paul showed and said that Christ
broke down the separation wall between them. If they seek faith. ---There is still a requirement that one
[believer] should not sit in the circle of the evil (Psalm 1:1-2). Still the
requirement not to pull in the same yoke with the unbeliever. Not to marry an
unbeliever. ---There is thus for believers a balancing
act that we have here. ---Have you made a mistake to marry an
unbeliever? Just come as you are. Give you troubles and yokes to Jesus.
Renovation will start immediately. And troubles but that will not be troubles
you caused. Satan will cause them. But the Holy Spirit and Christ and the
Angels are on your side. ---How many? How strong? How effective?
Two thirds are angels of God and one third are angels of Satan. Who is more? ---God is Creator. Satan is creature. Who
is winner? ---Come immediately to safety. When. Now.
